Delta Season Winding Down and Getting Ready for Fort Bragg

The striped bass are here in the Sacramento and San Joaquin Delta system. Most anglers are trolling with great success in lots of areas of the delta. The late rains caused a slow down in the spring migration of the stripers going up stream but that has definitely changed. The larger stripers at this point are being caught depending on the tides on both shallow running lures and deep running lures, rattle traps, swim baits and drifting live baits. This fishing will last through this month.

The sturgeon fishing remains consistent. A lot of sturgeon being caught in Suisun Bay, Pittsburg, Montezuma and Suisun Sloughs. These fish are taking a lot salmon roe and eel along with shrimp baits.
Some of these sturgeon will go up the river to spawn.
