Sturgeon And Stripers Are Moving Up The Sacramento River

According to https://usaoutdoors.org/ , The fish are moving around the Delta now. The rain that came sweetened the river and now the fish are moving up into the Delta. The Sacramento River around Isleton is still quite clear and the color is good. We are finding the stripers from Rio Vista up past Isleton and finally, the sturgeon also seem to be moving up the river.

We are trolling the Sacramento River using P-Line Predators and have been successful catching striped bass from the mouth of the Old Sacramento up to Walnut Grove depending on the tides. Trolling has been the most productive way of finding the stripers in the river and when you find the fish it can be fun.

The sturgeon are moving into the Cache Slough and Prospect Slough area now. The shrimp baits, eel and roe are all good baits for the sturgeon. Depends on the tides what depths of water you fish. There have been a few fish caught in the deeper water.

This week and into the next week the weather looks beautiful and should start warming the water once again. The nicer weather and the warmer water will only enhance the catching of the fish.

We still have room the next couple of weeks. If you want to get aboard give me a call 916-870-4225. It’s nice to be fishing close to home. Hope to hear from you!!
