November is The Month For Stripers & Sturgeon in the Delta

November is here.  This is my favorite month to fish for striped bass and sturgeon in the Delta.  The water has cooled and the weather is usually very good for fishing.  The heater is on the boat and we are ready to go.  The striper fishing has been good for the last month or so but the size of the fish has not been that exciting.  Lots of little fish in the system.  Looking forward to the larger stripers wintering in the delta. Bait fishing has been the most productive for the stripers the last couple of weeks.  Mudsuckers and shad are the best baits.  Depending on the tides and the wind we have drifted and anchored to catch the stripers.  The rains should enhance the delta water for good fishing this month.

The sturgeon are getting active with the fresh water coming in the Delta system.  The bait for sturgeon has been salmon roe, eel, shrimp and shad.  There seems to be some good numbers of sturgeon making their way to the normal haunts.  We are ready to go for some good sturgeon fishing this season.

We continue to leave from our Isleton location but are covering the delta where the fish are from Isleton to Suisun Bay.  We still have lots of room for this month.  Give us a call and get aboard the Fish ‘n’ Fool IV for a good day of fishing. You can always call me on my cell (916) 870-4225 to book your trip.
